About Us

Shannon's Crochet by the Creek started out from a girl with a dream.  At a young age my mother taught me how to crochet.  I used to always see her crocheting away and making things for family members and for my sister and I.  I was very curious about it and asked if she would teach me how to crochet....and that's how it all began! 

My passion for crochet grew stronger and deeper when I first found out at the age of 16 that my mother had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  I felt as if my life had stopped!  Days turned into many hours spent at hospitals and doctors offices and in turn lead to many hours of "waiting".  During hour long chemo treatments we would sit together and crochet.  This was my bonding time with my mother and I loved every minute of it. 

After a long 7 year fight I lost my mother to her battle with cancer.  This was the hardest thing I have ever went through in my life and turning to crochet helped me in so many ways during the difficult times.  All my items are made from my heart and I know each and every time I sit down to crochet that my mother is with me in that moment and that's how I know she will live on forever!
